I know it is difficult to think of the Bible as a history book, so let me throw in another reference for you. How many gates are there at the wall? Two. Their graves were here in the Kidron Valley. He was buried at the north end of the wall, between the gates. Before Joshua dies, he tells his sons to bury him not far from the gates. According to their father, Joshua, you will not enter here without gates. Later, some of the Peacemakers would become the Pharisees. Asa says the Peacemakers followed God, David followed the works of the Prophets, and I will follow the works of the King ( Isaiah 56:10). But the Zealots survived by moving into the deserted areas of Jerusalem. Their acts drove the Romans into a fury and they eventually put them down. The Zealots were a group of Jews who returned to the Temple to fight against the Romans. Christianity died out in Europe, but the religion survived through the heretics or Zealots as they were called.
