And the movie does a great job of capturing those emotions. But it comes wrapped in a big bundle of confusion, indecisiveness, and well, existential dread. On the other hand, you can finally start working towards your aspirations. On one hand, you have to finally grow up and take responsibility for your future, and figure out your next move. Realising that college is over and the rest of your life has begun is a bittersweet feeling. It still remains to this day one of the most relatable movies, one that no is allowed to mess with - with good reason. The movie was, interestingly, Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut, and touched the hearts of many youngsters. A coming of age movie that accurately captured the dynamics of modern love and friendships, and the confusion that comes part and parcel with ‘adulting’. Dil Chahta Hai continues to be one of the most iconic movies to have come out of Bollywood.
